Baby Wotring - 28 Weeks!

Welcome 2014 and to the third and final trimester!

Seriously people. How are "we" already at 28 weeks and in the home stretch? Seems like just yesterday the hubs and I were staring down at that little pink line with big grins on our faces! This week, Little Miss measures almost 15 inches long and weighs 2 1/4 pounds - about the size of a large eggplant. Not only can she open and close her eyes, but our little beauty has grown eyelashes. Baby Wotring (still unnamed for those of you wondering) is developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for her debut in March.

Happy New Year Trimester!

This week I am hungrier than ever! On Monday night, I woke up at 3:41am absolutely starving. After lying in bed for about and hour hoping I'd just fall back asleep, I finally ventured down to the kitchen for a snack of crackers and peanut butter. Both Brownie and the hubs were confused about my middle-of-the-night kitchen run but when Baby Girl is hungry there is no trying to ignore it! My energy is still really good and there are no aches or pains to complain about. I think I'm around 16 or 17 lbs gained but will officially weigh in tomorrow at the doctor's. Lots and lots of movement and activity this week -- not sure when the little one is snoozin' since it's so frequent!

I asked the hubs if he had any goals for 2014 given that it's going to be a big year for us welcoming our daughter into the world. He said his only goal is to be the best father he can be. Made me smile and agree that nothing is more important to me this year than my job as a mom which I'm so looking forward to! But first, I'm going to stay focused on continuing to have a healthy and active pregnancy the next 12 weeks.

Tomorrow is my 28 week appointment and gestational diabetes screening. Hoping everything is still on track and the test goes well!
